         This years West Yorkshire Spinners Christmas sock yarn, "Fairy Lights" is now available aboard The Wool Boat.

   This years yarn is called "Fairy Lights" and is a limited edition yarn. Winwick Mum, Christine Perry has created a new pattern to go with the yarn and a free copy comes with each purchase of the "Fairy Lights" yarn. 

  It is recommended that a 2.5mm circular needle is used to knit the socks and we have Knit-Pro ones in stock as well.  

      New babies cardigan and hat set added to our shop.  

      Do you or have you considered using "Knit Pro" needles? we carry a small range of straight and circular needles, and we can order in what you would like at very competitive prices.  

  The Wool Boat has a new range of chunky yarn aboard, J C Bretts "Tranquil" at £3.75 per 100 gram and we have the patterns to support your creating. Details here.

     Carole has knitted a adults hat from shade no TQ03 and says the yarn is nice and soft easy to knit with and knits up quickly.

The shade's are 529, Cherry Drop, 547 is called Candyfloss, 510 Cayenne Pepper

845 Pink Flamingo, 989 Candy Cane, and 545 Sarsaparilla, and we have a further 24 shades available.

The yarn is 75% Wool of which 35% is Bluefaced Leicester and 25% Nylon, so ideal for sock knitting.

Brindley with northern lights

The Wool boats mascot "Brindley" has some new yarn for you.

J C Bretts Northern lights, "one ball-one shawl"

This yarn is 95% Premium acrylic and 5% Viscose yarn in a double knitting weight.

Each ball, of which there are five shades in the range, weighs 150gram and has 450 Meters or 492 yards in the ball.

On the ball band is a pattern for a adult sized shawl, which can be knitted from a ball.

Each ball is £6, or £5.40 for Teds mates rate's J.

  The Burscough Fibre Festival's archive details here 

About six  years ago we started The Wool Boats knit and natter group in The Slipway, and since then there has been a meeting nearly every Thursday since, around the Burscough area, at the moment in The Farmers Arm's on New Lane. The meeting still goes on even if we're not there, so feel free to join them from 1pm.

    We are now members of The Roving Canal Traders Association as we rove the canals

 This details all the yarns they produce and whilst we carry good stocks of alot of their range what we havn't got in stock we can order in for you, and remember that we will not demand that you take all of the pack that our supplies are delivered in, if you just need one ball thats all you'll need to complete your projects.
