All these garments are now with their new owners but can be reproduced in colours and sizes as you require.
Two scooter jackets
Scooter Jackets.
Recently I finished these two scooter jackets which had been a commission from Gavin and Claire.
Gavin and Claire are both Lambertta enthusiasts with a good few of the machines in their collection.
Gavin had found the pattern and sent me a copy of it. The pattern is quite old, originally a 1960's one.
I sourced chunky yarn from the J C Bretts Chunky with merino range in the nearest shades to go with the pattern and then set about knitting the first jacket, having taken measurements of both Gavin and Claire.
Hope you like them, Gavin and Claire did, and are off to their first scooter rally of the season this weekend.
I'm very pleased with the finished garments and can recreate one for you if you would like.
Carole from The Wool Boat.

Carole's 29 th Garment of 2017.
A Modern Boatman's gansey hand knitted by Carole Wareing of Colin and Carole's Creations and The Wool Boat.
This gansey Carole knitted to her own pattern. It is called a modern boatman's gansey as it was knitted in a modern style that while it is based on the basic principles of a gansey it is knitted on two needles and then the pieces are sewn together. Traditionally Ganseys where knitted in the round on a set of 5 needles.
This Gansey was knitted for a customer in Australia who had seen Carole on the T V programme "Walking through history" with Sir Tony Robinson who walked the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool canal from Liverpool to Wigan and came across Carole sat on the back of the boat knitting a gansey.
This garment has been created from an wool and acrylic yarn in the shade "Denim" from the West Yorkshire spinners Aire Valley range of double knitting weight yarn.
This is the 29th garment Carole has finished in 2017, and if you would like a similar one knitting to your sizes please feel free to get in touch.
A Leeds and Liverpool gansey, Carole's 28th Garment of 2017.
I knitted this gansey to my own pattern. It is called a L and L gansey as it was designed to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the opening of the canal in 2016.
This gansey was knitted in a modern style that while it is based on the basic principles of a gansey it is knitted on two needles and then the pieces are sewn together. Traditionally Ganseys where knitted in the round on a set of 5 needles.
This Gansey was knitted for a customer in Thirsk in Yorkshire who is intending wearing it while he volunteers on the preserved Leeds and Liverpool short boat "Kennet"
This garment has been created from an wool and acrylic yarn in the shade "Navy" from the West Yorkshire spinners Aire Valley range of double knitting weight yarn.
