Welcome to Colin and Carole's Creations website, the online mooring of The Wool boat "Emma Maye" , based in Burscough on The Leeds and Liverpool canal. The unique floating shop for exclusive and commissioned hand knitted garments, photo art, wool, yarns and knitting supplies. 

Last up date 17th of July 2019.  Opening place for The Wool Boat this weekend decided. Blankets added to our web shop and a steam loco pic added to the Railway gallery.

  The Wellington girls came for a visit the other week.  A new V neck jumper added to our web shop. 

Up date on the temperature blanket tales,  The Wool Boat is heading south.  New V neck "Scarborough" style gansey added to our web shop. Winwick mum sock yarn now in stock.

The Wool Boat will be open in Willington, Derbyshire over the weekend of 20th and 21st of July.

Our original plan when we set out on this summer's cruise was to get to Shardlow but as normal we've slowed down, so Willington will be our turn round place before heading back north.

10 years ago on the 19th of June 2009 we went to J C Brett's and bought the first yarn to sell from our narrow boat, at the time "Patty Ann" and last week on the 19th June 2019 we went back and bought some more...a lot more!

        on Tuesday the 11.6.19 a lovely group of ladies from Wellington in Shropshire had a day out which included a visit to us on The Wool Boat moored at Stoke on Trent.

        We are always open to arrange a appointment for a visit to the Wool Boat for a club, a knit and natter group, or a gang of friends at a place at time that is convenient for you and us, feel free to get in contact.

The shade is number TQ07 which has shades of cream, lilac and light turquoise.

Brindley with northern lights

The Wool boats mascot "Brindley" has some new yarn for you.

J C Bretts Northern lights, "one ball-one shawl"

This yarn is 95% Premium acrylic and 5% Viscose yarn in a double knitting weight.

Each ball, of which there are five shades in the range, weighs 150gram and has 450 Meters or 492 yards in the ball.

On the ball band is a pattern for a adult sized shawl, which can be knitted from a ball.

Each ball is £6, or £5.40 for Teds mates rate's J.

About six  years ago we started The Wool Boats knit and natter group in The Slipway, and since then there has been a meeting nearly every Thursday since, around the Burscough area, at the moment in The Farmers Arm's on New Lane. The meeting still goes on even if we're not there, so feel free to join them from 1pm.

    We are now members of The Roving Canal Traders Association as we rove the canals
