All the ganseys on this page have been sold and are with their new owners, but can be reproduced in about 8 weeks depending on orders already received.

This gansey Carole knitted to her own pattern. It is called a modern boatman’s gansey as it was knitted in a modern style that while it is based on the basic principles of a gansey it is knitted on two needles and then the pieces are sewn together. Traditionally Ganseys where knitted in the round on a set of 5 needles. 
 
This garment has been created from an acrylic yarn in a navy blue shade which was the colour traditional fishermen’s gansey where knitted in for everyday use. The yarn for this garment is James C Bretts Top value double knitting weight yarn.

V neck Scarborough gansey style jumper Garment 405 
A V neck jumper hand knitted aboard the narrow boat “Emma Maye” in Lancashire by Carole Wareing of Colin and Carole’s Creations.
This garment has been designed and knitted by Carole.  It has been created from a shade of “Misty” from J C Brett’s (shade no R5) which is a premium acrylic yarn with a touch of viscose to make it feel nice and soft.
The garment is based on a “Scarborough” gansey pattern which has a moss stitch above the yoke on the chest area, while there is a quite distinctive step stitch border between the main body and the arms.  
 The main colour is a light blue with flecks of grey.
This garment has a chest size of 36 -38 inches, a length of 27 inch and the arms are 18 inches long.  
This garment could be worn by a lady or a chap.
 Machine washable at 30 degrees C
Price is £60 or £65 with free delivery to the UK.
