Carole’s Etsy shop from where you can purchase many of her hand knitted garments, though if you want anything special, a commissioned one? Feel free to give us a ring.
Blue skies here in West Lancashire this morning 22.1.2020. The public footpath alongside our mooring has dried up a lot so a good day for a walk and contact and collect some yarn? We will be available from 1-3 this afternoon.

The Wool Boats crew plan’s for the week of 18th January to 24th of January 2021.

It looks like the first part of the week is going to be wet, wet and wet, but at least it’s mild.

Still under the present government advice we can provide a limited service of contact and collect.

We are thus planning to be available for a couple of hours on Friday and Saturday again this week.

Col is planning to build a new gang plank so we can be available in different places for contact and collect. We want to be able to just move over to the other side of the canal where the tow path is in better condition and not as muddy for folks to come and find us.

Along some parts of the Leeds and Liverpool canal the wash wall alongside the towpath has a slope on it so we can’t moor right up against it so we thus need the longer gang plank.

So hopefully we’ll be able to move across the canal to be available on Friday and Saturday from 1-3.

When you do contact us to order we will be able to let you know where we are, or will contact you in the morning of Friday or Saturday to let you know.

Local deliveries are available as well.

We are calling our operations “contact and collect” as we feel this is far more flexible and efficient than “click and collect”, so different ways to contact us, website, phone 07931 356204, or e-mail.

About us

Where and when is The Wool Boat open?

The Wool Boat is based on the canal narrow boat “Emma Maye”. During the winter we are based on the Leeds and Liverpool canal in the Burscough area of Lancashire. Over the summer we cruise the inland waterways of the country. This means
we will keep this website up dated as to where and when we plan to be open.

New baby yarn page added to the website https://thewoolboat.co.uk/baby-yarns/
