Where and when is The Wool Boat open?
The Wool Boat is based on the canal narrow boat “Emma Maye”. During the winter we are based on the Leeds and Liverpool canal in the Burscough area of Lancashire. Over the summer we cruise the inland waterways of the country. This means
we will keep this website up dated as to where and when we plan to be open.
Hi All, we are now open for phone and collect to supply your yarny needs, or a hand knitted gift, or a woolly jumper, scarf or gloves to keep you warm in the coming winter months.
This is in case the weather isn’t fit for us to be open. If you know what you need or want we can have it ready for you, so no one is hanging about in the wet and cold.
We plan to be open a couple of days a week, but with the present restrictions we can’t let people aboard the boat so our opening days will be very weather dependent.
Wool Boat “opening” this weekend.
As the weather forecast for the weekend of Saturday the 31st October and Sunday the 1st of November is for wind and rain we are not going to move the boat from our mooring.
However between 11 and 3 on the two days if you fancy a walk along the public footpath that passes us and you want any knitting, crochet supplies or hand knitted garments that would make great Christmas presents it would be nice to see you.
If you know what you would like, if you could give us a ring on 07931 356204 we can have it ready for you.
The footpath runs from the car park on Crabtree Lane near the canal across the front of the Slipway pub (L40 0RN) on the opposite side of the canal from the towpath. The footpath is wet and muddy so stout shoes or welly boots are recommended. We are about 50 yards after the gate that crosses the path at the end of the pub garden.
