We are roving canal traders who sell yarns, wools, weaving, knitting and crochet tools from our narrow boats.
Over the weekend of 25th and 26th of September 2021, if the weather permits, we are planning to moor and be open together somewhere in the Burscough area of West Lancashire on the Leeds and Liverpool canal.
We are The Wool Boat and Jubilee Fibres.
The Wool Boat supplies commercially produced yarn from James C Brett, West Yorkshire Spinners and Opal along with patterns, knitting needles, crochet hooks, all will you need to create your own stunning garments. Or Carole the knitter on the Wool Boat has a range of hand knitted garments available to save you knitting them yourself.
The Wool Boat’s website for more information is www.thewoolboat.co.uk
Jubilee Fibres supplies home spun and hand dyed yarns, yarns for home dying, with dyed & natural coloured British wool tops and drop spindles to set you off spinning yourself, while John the weaver creates woven scarves.
They have a blog at www.jublieefibres.blogspot.com
We are not quite sure where yet where we will be moored, it depends where there is room for two boats to moor together so please check back to find out more nearer the time.
This coming together of the boats will also depend on the weather as our yarns will be displayed outside, once again check back nearer the time.
