Opening plans for this week for the floating Lancashire Wool shop.
The Wool Boats plans for the 1st week of February, 2nd to 8th February 2026
February already…at least the days are getting lighter for longer. A new week, and the continuation of the DK with Merino Thursday Treat.
We got into the village yesterday, thank you to everyone who came aboard for their yarn, hopefully we’ll be back in the village this coming Sunday the 8th, again open from 11 to 3.
Before that on Thursday afternoon, we plan to be open outside The Slipway from 1-3.
And Capt Col’s Thursday Treat from last week is now a permeant price drop on the DK with merino from James C Brett for £2.50 a 100gram ball. Usual price was £3.50. All the remaining shades and stock are now in our webshop and can be posted out to a uk address.
As always if there is anything you would like or need from us please get in touch and Capt Col can deliver locally.

Col has been sending out yarn recently, mainly the West Yorkshire Spinners discontinued and thus discounted sock yarn and received this lovely message from Jo from Leeds after she had taken delivery of her order,

“Zing” double pointed needles in 2.20 mm and 15cm long, 5 needles in a set.
They will make ideal tools to create socks from the ranges of “Opal” and “West Yorkshire Spinners” signature 4 ply we have in about 40 different shades we have available aboard the Wool Boat.
The needles are £6.20 each and the “Opal” yarn is £9.50 for 100-gram ball while the WYS is £8.50 per 100-gram ball.

Carole has recently produced a new hat, and this one is a bit special.
She has knitted this one from a pure wool yarn which has been produced from wool, reared, sheared and spun in Britain.
The yarn has been produced with a donation from each ball sold going to the Future Dreams Breast Cancer Charity.
So your new hat will be helping British sheep famers and a breast cancer charity.

A Dragon tooth shawl hand knitted aboard the narrow boat “Emma Maye” in Lancashire by Carole Wareing of Colin and Carole’s Creations. This handcrafted garment is an adult sized shawl, one of Carole’s exclusive and unique range knitted, from a discontinued wool based yarn that was produced by West Yorkshire Spinners. The yarn used for this shawl is 75% Wool and 25% nylon and so nice and warm. The colours are oranges, reds and creams. The stitches used to create this shawl have produced a textured structure to the garment. The shawl is 62 inch long and 11 inch deep at its widest point and has about 57 dragon’s teeth. A big thank you to Carolyn for modelling the shawl. The price is £35 including free postage to a uk address,or come and pick up from The Wool Boat.
